An epic buffet

March 16th, 2006 by Dave

Anyone from Atlantic City knows why that’s a funny title–or at least they should. In any event, there will be an epic buffet unfolding at the Las Vegas Hilton in two weeks. From the Hilton Hot Sheet:

Alka-Seltzer, in celebration of its 75th anniversary makes an attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the “World’s Largest Buffet” at the Las Vegas Hilton on Tuesday, March 28 beginning at 11 a.m., The 500-item buffet, located in Hilton Ballroom A, will be hosted by actress and comedian Kathy Griffin. The cost is $7.50 per person, with all of the proceeds to be donated to America’s Second Harvest, the nation’s largest charitable hunger-relief organization.

I’m thinking of taking a Vegas event, writing a serious article about it, and having my agent shop it around. I was going to do a national bartenders’ championship thing at the Flamingo, but I think this would be just as compelling, in a strange way. I’ll be sure to send a copy to Francis Fukayama.

By the way, thanks to everyone who sent in suggestions for incorporating an RSS feed into the UNLV gaming site. I should be implementing something today or tomorrow.
