Roll the Bones launch event

September 8th, 2006 by Dave

With the October 5 release date of Roll the Bones rapidly approaching, I’ve got an announcement to make: the official launch event will be a reading and signing at the Reading Room at Mandalay Place on Saturday, October 7, at 2 PM. I’m going to be publicly reading from the book for the first time ever, and signing copies for the first time as well. Here’s all the info:

WHAT: Official launch event, Roll the Bones: The History of Gambling
WHEN: Saturday, October 7, 2 PM
WHERE: The Reading Room at Mandalay Place, just off the main casino floor
WHO: Author David G. Schwartz will be reading from his book, answering questions, and signing copies

The last signing I had at Mandalay Place (for Cutting the Wire) went very well, so I’m optimistic about this one.

This should be a jackpot of fun, so if you want to meet other people who are interested in gambling history (or just want to ask me if I sell casino carpet in person) and support a local Vegas author, come on down. It will definitely be an experience.

More good news: I’ve just gotten word that I have a starred review in Kirkus Reviews, which calls the book “a winning hand for the student of gambling.”
